The Amazing Spider-man 2

Work on “The Amazing Spider-man 2” was always great fun! We had an outstanding team of visual effects artists working on it and I was part of a phenomenal matte painting department that was always ready for any new challenge. It was certainly a pleasure for me to work with such an AMAZING crew on such an AMAZING project!

Following, are some examples of matte paintings, set extensions, and projections that I provided on this movie.

The original plate footage of the Brooklyn Bridge had construction and a huge tarp that needed to be removed for this shot to work. In order to do this, I repainted the bridge from source photography and projected it onto a 3D model of the bridge to seamlessly fit into the vfx shot. It was later animated with CG cards of the cars to drive across and re-lit for other scenes.
